With our beautiful baby boy home life was quite crazy. But it wasn’t long before it was time for his birthday! I managed to run out and buy the balloons and cake before Jamaal got home. Then we had a nice little family celebration.

It seemed like it was before our very own eyes that he changed into this little crawling babbling toddler!

Jamaal and I both knew we needed to teach our little boy some vital skills during these toddler years. Jamaal worked with him everyday before work on his walking, making sure our little munchkin would be able to navigate this world on 2 feet.

We both also worked on getting him potty trained, because the sooner we didn’t have to change any more stinky diapers the happier we both would be! Very soon I was going back to work but I wasn’t worried, on my maternity leave I took the time to really interview and research some of the high school kids in the neighborhood, and found a few we really liked to look after him in the hours between my going to work and Jamaal coming home. I also took the task of making sure our little Warren could talk. I sat down with him every day before I went to work to practice our chatting skills.

Soon our little baby was able to run though the house and chatter at us in words we understood! His babysitters adored him, the played with him every chance they got, and never minded if Jamaal had to work overtime, we truly had been blessed.
